I've noticed a spider the last few days that is inhabiting Kendrick Cottage and hangs out above the couch, I've named him Bob. Bob and I like to watch The Office together.
The other day a fly landed on the window sill and I said, "oh, hello little fly!" and continued to have a full on conversation..
I got a little aggressive trying to kill a ginormous bumblebee in the cottage and smashed a window out with a DVD box set.
On Wednesday I was painting the outside of the ticket booth and I needed a ladder to reach the top, so I borrowed one from Nadia. I'm ashamed to say how long I stood in a field laughing hysterically at this...
One of my most favorite adventures so far has been with Ullu Zurbriggen, the owner of El Ranchito here in Kelwood, riding horses! I saw Ullu's ad for trail rides and noticed that she also did western riding lessons. I used to ride English style about 4 years ago, jumping etc. but had never attempted western, so I thought I'd give it a go! Ullu was a wonderful teacher.. very calm (which is an excellent thing to be around horses), knowledgeable and patient! I rode a mare named Bionda, a buckskin Tennessee Walking Horse and even though she only had a little bit of riding time under her belt she was very good to me! However, I felt her pain as we were both getting eaten alive by mosquitoes (this is becoming a reoccurring theme around here..). I had such a wonderful time getting back into the saddle and I can't wait for my next lesson! I'll be a barrel racing cowgirl in no time ;).
Oh and I'm sure everyone would like to know, my big purchase last week was a fly swatter so that I won't smash another window out anytime soon!
